Meah Velik-Lord


Meah has been dancing at Mangala Studios of Yoga and Creative Dance since childhood. She has undertaken several years of gymnastics training (Wesley College Gymnastics) and contemporary dance. Meah has also undertaken shorter dance and movement courses with Chunky Move, Anne O’Keefe and Women’s Circus, among others, and was a member of the Wesley Lions cheerleading team (competitive) for two years. She has a particular interest in the relationship between choreographed dance, improvisation and acrobatic movement in performance.

Prior to founding Travel Art Dance Company she has choreographed performance pieces for Mangala Studios and for Melbourne University Dance and Drama events. She has also performed improvised dance works in a range of venues in collaboration with other dancers, choreographers and musicians. Meah completed Honours in Urban Ecology in 2004 and is currently undertaking a Masters in Landscape Architecture.
